Ten ingredients. Beta-glucan is the first one.

Most serums name an ingredient on the front and bury it near the bottom of the list. Open this one and beta-glucan is listed first, at a declared 400,000 ppm. Everything else in the formula is there to hold it, thicken it, or keep it stable — water, glycerin, adenosine, sodium PCA, and the minimum needed to make a serum.

Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide from yeast, and it is one of the better-studied hydrating ingredients in skincare. Like hyaluronic acid, it binds water and holds it at the surface. Unlike hyaluronic acid, it also has published soothing and skin-supporting activity — which is why it shows up in products aimed at stressed, irritated and recovering skin rather than just dry skin.

The texture is unusual and worth knowing about: thick, clear and slippery, closer to a gel than a liquid. It looks like a lot on the fingers and spreads much further than you expect. It sinks in without tack and layers cleanly under anything.

No fragrance, no essential oils, no alcohol, no colourants.

Key ingredients

  • Beta-Glucan 400,000 ppm — first in the list; hydration plus soothing
  • Glycerin — the most reliable humectant there is
  • Sodium PCA — a natural moisturizing factor your skin already makes
  • Adenosine — Korean MFDS-recognized functional wrinkle ingredient

How to use

Morning and night, after toner and before moisturizer. A little goes a long way — start with two or three drops and press into skin.

Apply to slightly damp skin and follow with a moisturizer. Beta-glucan draws and holds water, so it works best when there is water to hold and something on top to keep it there.

Safe to use on the same days as any active in your routine. It has nothing in it that competes.

Best for

Dehydrated, tight or reactive skin. Redness. Skin recovering from over-exfoliation or a compromised barrier.

Because the formula is so short and completely fragrance-free, it suits every skin type — and it is a sensible choice if you have reacted to serums before and want to simplify down to something with almost nothing in it.

Good to know

  • Patch test before first use.
  • Needs a moisturizer layered on top — it hydrates but does not seal.
  • Minimally preserved by design. Keep the cap closed, store away from heat and direct light, and use within 6 months of opening.
  • Avoid the immediate eye area. External use only.

Full INCI

Beta-Glucan (400,000 ppm), Water, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Adenosine, Tromethamine, Sodium PCA, Carbomer, Sodium Polyacrylate
